About

Scoundrel records is a pioneering independent label driven by an eclectic roster of electronic artists and live sounds.

Tearing down the boundaries set by traditional record companies, Scoundrel record’s vision is to push sounds that not only destroy dance floors but evoke excitement and feeling beyond.

From raw guitar driven acts, and funk fuelled beats and breaks, to the most cutting edged electronic sounds that stick firm in the crates of DJs worldwide, our musical roster is bounded by nothing except releasing music to move you.

No glitter, no bandwagons; just good fuckin tunes.

Scoundrel was officially launched in late 2011 with artist and producer ‘Boy Lost’; who first broke onto the scene as part of electronic outfit ‘The Critical Massive’, whose EP ‘Lawless’ was nominated for the 2008 USA Song Writing Awards and the MusicOZ Awards, and played from Australia to Miami.

His debut release ‘Boy Lost – Itza Trumpet Thing’, was an instant success, breaking into the ARIA Club charts in its debut week. Remixes were by acclaimed International DJ and Producer ‘Mind Electric’ who has remixed for likes of Snoop Dog and Ian Carey, to name a few; and also by breakthrough electro duo ‘Fake ID’, following on from the recent success with their signing to world renowned US house label, ‘Twisted America’, for their remix of ‘Superchumbo – The Revolution’. ‘Itza Trumpet Thing’ gained great international support, with US superstar DJ ‘Kaskade’, including it in his Essential Selection, plays by ‘Hardwell’ and features on BBC Radio 1 and Ministry of Sound radio.

Scoundrel’s success continued with second release ‘Carnaval – by Boy Lost’, also hitting the ARIA Club Charts, and showcased breakthrough Ibiza based producer ‘Saul Bliss’ and Aussie newcomer ‘Jackness’.

For the labels third release, Los Angeles based ‘Fake ID, teamed up with Grammy Award winning Artist ‘G Tom Mac’ (from The Lost Boys movie fame), to remix his world famous anthem ‘Cry Little Sister’. Once again with Mind Electric on remix duty, the release enjoyed solid ARIA Club charting and massive international support.

The labels latest release comes via Boy Lost’s recent collaboration ‘Mister Mister’, which features MC Riddums Nation and sultry vocalist Ce Ce Kay. With remixes by UK Dubstep star ‘Cottonmouth’ and by label LOT 49 regular ‘Philly Blunt’ this track is set to take over the dance floors worldwide.
